11U Flames Ranked #8 at AAU Nationals

The Flames 11U team attended the AAU D2 National Championship Tournament held in Westfield, Indiana from 6/26/2009 - 7/1/2009. The Flames secured a number one seed in Championship Bracket play by sweeping through pool play, beating the Indiana Blizard, the Big Dawgs of Kentucky and the Toledo Elite. In their "Sweet Sixteen" round game, the Flames defeated the James River Blaze of Virginia. The Flames ended up with a #8 national ranking.

2009 NH State Tournament

New Hampshire Flames teams lead the medal haul at the NH State Tournament held on May 2-3 in Derry NH. The Flames 11U team won their second straight gold medal. The Flames 13U team came home with the bronze and the 14U team took the silver. The three medals represented the highest total of any organization in the tournament. Overall, Flames teams went a combined 12-5. It was a great showing for all four teams entered in the tournament. With the win, the 11U team qualified for the AAU Nationals held in June 2009.

Revised 2009 AAU Age Groups

National Girls AAU has once again changed the age requirements for the upcoming 2009 Spring AAU season. The intent of the new age rules is to close any gaps that existed from last year's change to ensure that AAU age groups better line up by grade. Players that become eligible for an AAU team based on the Age Exception Rule will need to fill out a Grade Exception Form. Click here for AAU Age Group Calculator.
